DONE DEAL: Melle Witteveen signs for RKC Waalwijk

Melle Witteveen is RKC Waalwijk's new signing.

Melle Witteveen is making the move from SC Heerenveen to RKC Waalwijk. The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a one-year contract at the Mandemakers Stadion, with an option to extend for an additional year. With this, he will join the Geelblauwen for the upcoming season.

Witteveen arrives from SC Heerenveen, where he demonstrated his qualities over the past years with the Under-21 team. In addition, he played six matches for the first team of the Frisian club. The young midfielder began his football career at SC Emmeloord and moved via Flevo Boys to the youth academy of SC Heerenveen. He made his Eredivisie debut on August 20, 2023.

Technical Director Bernard Schuiteman is enthusiastic about the new signing: “Melle is a creative midfielder who fits perfectly with our style of play. He has developed very well over the past years, and we see great potential in him. His performance during the trial period in recent weeks has only confirmed this.”

Witteveen himself looks forward to the new challenge with confidence: “My time at SC Heerenveen was special, especially with my Eredivisie debut. Now I want to continue developing myself at RKC Waalwijk. The conversations with Bernard Schuiteman and head coach Sander Duits left me with a very positive feeling. I can’t wait to show my abilities on the pitch.”
