Joni Paliama: FC Utrecht

FC Utrecht Women's team signs talented Joni Paliama.

From the upcoming season onwards, Joni Paliama will be wearing the FC Utrecht Women's team shirt. The talented midfielder (18) is joining from Jong Ajax Women and has signed a one-season contract in Utrecht.

Paliama took her first steps on the football field at the football school of former professional Arno Splinter in Almere, and from the age of six, she played for AS'80 in Almere as well. In the summer of 2020, she made the move to Jong Ajax Women. Over the years, Paliama has regularly been part of representative youth team selections.

"Signing my first professional contract with a beautiful, big club that will compete in the Eredivisie: I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity FC Utrecht is giving me," Paliama responds to her impending transfer to FC Utrecht. "I feel a warm family atmosphere here and I have already come to know FC Utrecht as a club that also pays a lot of attention to the person behind the football player. My personal goal is to secure a starting position at FC Utrecht Women and to see both myself and everyone in our team develop, both on the pitch and personally, so that we become a strong team in our first year."

Marlou Peeters, Women's Football Manager, comments on Paliama's arrival at FC Utrecht Women's team: "Joni is one of the talented players in our squad whom we are fulfilling the dream of playing in the Eredivisie. It's great to see the team taking shape more and more, with a wonderful mix of young talented girls and more experienced players."
